TO OUR MAC USERS
If you want to run your DiGiVision product on a Mac Computer, follow these steps. Open a finder window showing the contents of the disc by either clicking on the disc as it appears on the desktop or by opening the finder then clicking on the cd icon. Click on 'cd.HTM.' From there, DiGiVision should run normally.
GETTING STARTED:
First Set Your Browser to Internet Explorer (Safari for Macs) for the Best Results.
This is a Windows Media Player System and is a DVD-ROM. It will not play on
a DVD player for your television. A DVD reader on your computer is
necessary.
Select the desired disk and insert it into your computer. The title screen
will come up automatically. This page shows a list of the lectures from the
conference. Each lecture is a file on the DVD-ROM.
If the title screen does not come up, go to the start menu and open My
Computer. Left click the icon with DVD Drive in its name. The title page
should open from here.
Choose your topic by clicking on it. The presentation and DiGiVision page
will appear with the conference information. You will see 2 boxes, video on the
left and power point on the right.
Important: If you have Active Content turned off you will
have to enable it and approve the disk information. The following security
alert will appear as a line below the address bar. “To Help Protect Your
Security…” Click it, then select allow content. An additional warning may
ask if you are sure; select yes.
Use the REFRESH button as a fail-safe at any time if it seems the
DVD-ROM is not responding or playing your selections. The Refresh button is
above the address bar; it looks like two green arrows swirling around each
other.
OPERATING DiGiVision:
There are three main parts on the DiGiVision Player screen: the video
window on the left, the slides window on the right, and the
data window below the video window.
The Video Window:
The video is run by the same standard functions as a movie. Those are play,
pause, stop, fast forward, etc. The play button is a circle with a triangle
in it at the bottom left corner of the video window. If the video is playing
this button is pause which is two vertical lines. The stop button is to the
right of play and is a square. Above play is rewind. It is two left facing
arrows. The fast forward button is on the right side of the video window at
the same height as rewind. Between rewind and fast forward is the video
slider bar. You can click and hold the slider to quickly move to any point
during the lecture. Above the video window is two arrows next to the caption
play speed. These arrows allow you to set the play speed of presentation as
slow as half speed and as fast as double speed. This is very helpful if the
speaker speaks to fast or to slow for you to understand him. You can also
make the video window full screen size by right clicking anywhere on the
video, going to zoom then clicking full screen. To resume to the normal
screen click the button in the bottom right corner.
The Slides Window:
The slides advance automatically; the way the presenter choose to show the
slides to the original audience is the way you will see them on DiGiVision.
At any time during the lecture you may click on the slide to see a larger
picture of it. To make the these larger slides auto-advance check the
synchronize box. You can save, email, or print a slide by right clicking
it.* At the bottom of the slide window you can find specific slides by
clicking slide list. This will show you nine slides at a time in a smaller
format. You can see the other slides by clicking the page numbers above the
nine smaller slides. To return to normal viewing either click the small
slide that you want to view or click slide at the bottom of the slide
window. Above the slide window is the word search. By clicking the search
button you may enter any word or phrase and DiGiVision will search the text
of every slide in the presentation. The slides that have the word or phrase
will show on the right and the text belonging to that slide is on the left.
Click on the mini slide to view it with the video. The search function is
unique to DiGiVision; no other program has this ability. *The slides are the
property of the speaker. They may be used for personal use only. You may not
use them for publication without permission of the speaker. This is
copyrighted material and protected by law.
The Data Window:
The data window tells the viewer who the speaker is, the title of the
lecture, the date the presentation was given, and may have additional
information about the presentation. DiGiVision captures an Mp3 audio file
for easy download to an Mp3 player or your computer. Click resources below
the data window then right click Mp3 download; you can then save target as
to anywhere in your computer.
Additional Things You Should Know
Once you have completed a presentation return to the title page by clicking
the back button. To close the program click the red X in the top right
corner. To ensure many years of use keep your DiGiVision discs in their
cases when they are not in use.
